On 28th April the Concertgebouw of Bruges was turned into a huge TV studio for the long-awaited live recording of the Scala Special for the American PBS TV network and of Scala’s ‘live’ DVD. It turned to be an unforgettable evening, pictures of which will soon be on our web site.
First of all we would like to thank the whole team, all our engineers, our American, French, Dutch and Canadian friends/teams (this was a great international co-production!) and the Scala girls, each one of them, for their outstanding vocal performance and for enduring endless rehearsals.
Yet, our very special thanks go to you, to the Scala fans who attended the concert. You were untiring and enthusiastic till the end and have made something very special and unforgettable of this evening. Thank you very much, thank you! The next day the Flemish daily ‘De Standaard’ published a beautiful report on the event. Click here if you want to read the translation.
The ‘Circle’ Concert of Scala in the Concertgebouw (Bruges’ concert hall) will be broadcast on 5th June 2010 on the 1st channel (LaUne) of RTBF (the French-speaking Belgian TV) and on the 1st channel (Eén) of VRT (the Dutch-speaking Belgian TV) on 11th July. American TV (PBS) is planned for August. Hopefully other TV stations will follow. So, regularly check our web site to stay up-to-date.
